Financial literacy for K–12

Growing Smart Kids One Money Adventure at a Time

Money is about more than dollars and cents — it's learning to make thoughtful choices, plan ahead, solve problems, understand value, and help others. SmartFi Kids turns those lessons into stories, games, and adventures children never forget, set in the magical world of Worthia.

Why SmartFi Kids exists

Learning today. Leading tomorrow.

Most children finish school without ever being taught how money really works. SmartFi Kids starts earlier — and starts differently. We believe financial literacy should begin with curiosity, imagination, and storytelling, not worksheets full of vocabulary words.

Story first. Every concept — saving, spending wisely, planning, generosity, entrepreneurship — arrives inside an adventure children actually want to follow.

Real decisions, real stakes. Children don't just memorize terms. They make choices, see consequences, and reflect — the way real financial judgment is built.

Grows with your child. Four developmental learning stages carry learners from their first coin all the way to careers, credit, and investing.

The story world

Explore the world of Worthia

Worthia is the magical learning universe at the heart of SmartFi Kids. Every region teaches a real financial life skill, and every region unlocks through stories, missions, and challenges completed with the five heroes. Children don't move through a syllabus — they journey through a world.

Each hero embodies a different relationship with money — exploring, spending, saving, sharing, and planning. Together, they model the balanced financial character we want every child to grow into.

Bitty the Bee, a cheerful yellow and purple bee wearing blue explorer goggles The Explorer

Bitty the Bee

Curious, adventurous, and endlessly optimistic, Bitty buzzes toward every new discovery. Bitty encourages children to ask questions, explore how money works, and meet new financial technology — always at an age-appropriate level — with confidence instead of confusion.

Kofi the Monkey, a happy brown monkey with a yellow flower behind one ear, waving both hands The Spender

Kofi the Monkey

Energetic, funny, and a little spontaneous, Kofi loves the marketplace — and sometimes learns the hard way. Through Kofi's choices and cheerful mistakes, children learn smart spending, needs versus wants, comparing options, opportunity cost, and what "good value" really means.

Orin the Owl

Thoughtful, knowledgeable, and endlessly encouraging, Orin is the mentor of Worthia. Through simple explanations, good questions, and clever problem-solving, Orin helps children grasp bigger ideas — planning, decision-making, critical thinking, and the foundations of investing.

The learning journey

How SmartFi Kids works

Children enter Worthia, meet the heroes, and progress region by region — earning Smart Coins and badges as financial ideas turn into real skills.

1

Choose your hero

Children pick a companion — Bitty, Kofi, Zori, Nuru, or Orin — whose personality guides their first adventures through Worthia.

Research-informed K–12 curriculum

The right lesson at the right age

The SmartFi Kids curriculum is designed around how children's thinking actually develops. Concepts are introduced only when learners are cognitively ready for them, then revisited with greater depth as their reasoning and real-world experience grow. Our approach is research-informed and developmentally appropriate, drawing on established principles from child development, learning science, and financial education — and it is continuously reviewed and refined.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Children enter the story world of Worthia, choose a hero companion, and learn through adventures: stories introduce a financial idea, games and missions let children practice it, and badges, Smart Coins, and new regions celebrate progress. Parents and teachers follow along through dashboards and reports.

Child safety is a founding design principle. SmartFi Kids is built as an ad-free learning environment with privacy protections designed around child-focused regulations such as COPPA, with special safeguards for learners under 13. Parents stay in control through the parent dashboard.

SmartFi Kids spans Kindergarten through Grade 12 (roughly ages 5–18), organized into four developmental learning stages. Each stage introduces concepts only when children are cognitively ready for them, then deepens the same ideas as learners grow.

Classroom resources are part of the platform today, and school licenses and district partnerships are on our roadmap. If you're an administrator or curriculum leader, reach out — we'd love to talk about a pilot.

Our curriculum is built to map to recognized financial literacy education frameworks and is organized so teachers can align lessons to their state and district standards. Detailed alignment guides are part of our educator resources.

Absolutely. The developmental learning stages, printable activities, and family challenges work beautifully as a homeschool financial literacy track, and dedicated homeschool plans are on our roadmap.

Yes — and carefully. Younger learners simply explore the idea that money can be digital. Only in the older stages do learners study digital assets and financial technology as educational topics, with an emphasis on understanding, skepticism, and safety. SmartFi Kids never promotes investing in any asset.

Yes. The parent dashboard shows what your child is learning, celebrates milestones, and suggests family challenges and conversation prompts so learning continues at the dinner table.
